ACF participated fully at the recently concluded first ever Africa Regional Forum for Action – Inclusive and Active Mobility in a Changing Climate, which took place at the Ubumbwe Grande Hotel, Kigali, Rwanda from 7th June 2022 – 9th June 2022.

ACF also participated at a panel discussion titled, “Changing the conversation – How do we create a culture where walking and cycling are celebrated?”

Participants were drawn from all over Africa, people doing great things to empower pedestrians and cyclists, as well as global experts on the subject matter. The forum was engaging, enlightening, and encouraging. Our capacity was built, and the bar for action was raised.
Highlights were the visit to the peri-urban bridge built by Bridges to Prosperity (B2P), and the launch of the Pan African Action Plan for Active Mobility (PAAPAM), which seeks to build momentum across Africa and globally to improve the conditions of the 1 billion plus people in Africa who walk and cycle daily for a minimum of 55 minutes.
